AGM
The next Annual General Meeting will be held on :

at Park United Reformed Church, Palmer Park Avenue
Members and non-members welcome
The previous AGM was held on March 6th 2008.
Planning Matters
F/2005/6043 Flats in Culver Lane on land occupied by
Nos 40 and 42.
First application was refused.
A new application was submitted, for 8 flats. Its location is
next to the newly built building on the corner of Palmerstone
Road/Culver Lane.
This application was refused in December 2005.
F/2005/6479 40 The Drive
Proposed erection of one detached dwelling and new access from
Erleigh Court Gardens.
This has been discussed by Earley Town Council and referred to
Wokingham District Council.
F/2005/6421. 1 – 11 Mays Close.
Proposed erection of 5 x 2 bedroom dwellings, 12 x 3 bedroom dwellings,
8 x 2 bedroom flats and 4 x 1 bedroom flats
This application will go before WDC Development & Control
Committee in mid-February.
Proposed Relocation of Addington School
Design brief will be available in mid-February.
Planning Application with detailed plans is expected to be available
for comments and objections in May.
F/20042843 & F/20053740 10-20 Palmerstone Road
Refused permission by Wokingham DC on 20th October 2004.
Sent for appeal to the Planning Inspectorate in Bristol on 3rd
January 2005.
The Planning Inspectorate at Bristol has approved these applications,
subject to an independent survey of the bats found around the
boundary between Palmerstone Rd and Eastcourt Ave.
F/2004/3187 34 and Land Rear of 36-50 Pitts Lane Earley
The proposed erection of 14 dwellings with associated parking
and garageing, vehicular access plus landscaping and open space.
Demolition of 34 Pitts Lane.
This application was refused on the grounds that the view across
Bulmershe Park would be spoilt.
Land Rear Of 34 - 42 Chiltern Crescent & 53 The Drive
Earley
Demolition of 38 Chiltern Crescent and 53 The Drive.
Proposed erection of 14 dwellings with access from Chiltern Crescent
and the Drive.
This application has been refused.
Environmental Matters
Earley Environment Group
The Earley Environment Group has a new web site at :

There are newsletters to download, and there will soon be links
to different forms of wildlife, fauna and flora of Earley. The
site will also contain details of meetings and national surveys

Roads and Traffic
Pitts Lane Cycle Path
The grass verge is being removed along the east side of Pitts
Lane from the A4 to Town Lane to create a ‘cycle path’,
although there will be no demarcation line along the pavement.
Police and the Earley Neighbourhood Action Group
Earley Neighbourhood Action Group was formed on 9 November 2005
as one of the new initiatives established by Thames Valley Police
for the reorganisation of policing for the community, known as
Neighbourhood Policing. --- more

The new Earley Community Police Support Officer is currently undergoing
training. She will be out and about in Earley in February.
