ACER Environmental issues

Details of Community Provision in North Earley can be found  here.

ACER and local councillors walked round the Whitegates area with Peter Baveystock (WBC Cleaner and Greener) and Emma who monitors the contracts on Thursday, 4th August. Peter had already received a copy of the ACER Street Database together with an email detailing our main concerns. It was agreed that some of the cutting had been of poor quality and that what spraying and sweeping there had been had not been effective in removing the weeds in the gutters and at the back of the pavements in a number of areas. It was agreed that Wokingham Borough Council would re-cut those areas that had been poorly cut as soon as possible and would take responsibility for cutting the verge outside M&S at Shepherds’ Hill.  It would try to synchronise cutting, spraying and sweeping to increase effectiveness and would provide details of future dates for sweeping so that residents can move parked cars where possible. ACER will monitor the state of verges and weeds at the end of September, following the next round of cutting and spraying.
